Professor in Department of New Materials, Mi-Jeong Lee’s paper about the research conducted together with Professor Henning Sirringhaus from the University of Cambridge in England concerning the principles of charge transfer of macromolecular transistors was selected as a cover for the most recently published Chemistry of Materials journal (published on 22nd October, 2013). The Chemistry of Materials is an authoritative journal in the field of new materials, which publishes relevant theoretical papers after conducting a meticulous selection process. (Impact factor: 8.238)

Electrooptical Spectroscopy of Uniaxially Aligned Polythiophene Films in Field-Effect Transistors (Chem. Mater., 2013, 25 (10), pp 2075–2082, the paper is about the research concerning the characteristics of charge transfer investigating its performance property of macromolecular transistors which are applicable to various flexible elements.

Professor Mi-Jeong Lee announced research about the characteristic anisotropies of macromolecular transistors orientation (Anisotropy of charge transport in aligned and chain-extended polymer field effect transistors, Advanced Functional Materials, 2011, 21(5), 932) and conducted in-depth research using electro-optics analysis. The charge transfer properties of macromolecular transistors, which first appeared in mid-1980s, have advanced by approximately 100,000 times through the studies on understanding the principles of charge transfer and applying such principles. However, deeper understanding on performance characteristics of macromolecular transistors still need to be acquired and future flexible application to electronic devices and its development depends on such understanding.

In this regard, such research suggested possibilities in the way to understand the core basic principles. Professor Mi-Jeong Lee participated in this research as the lead researcher and this research was conducted through the sponsorship by ERC Business and Knowledge Economy with the support from the National Research Foundation of Korea.
