University students are mostly concerned about acquiring a job after they graduate from the school. However, most students do not know what they are interested in or what they want to do in the future life. Therefore, to help students  find their aptitude and lead them in the right direction, Career Development Centers in each college are providing various programs regarding employment.

The College of Business Administration held an event for students on 24 October called Employment Day.’ This event was aimed at sophomores and juniors who belong to the College of Business Administration. For sophomores, the program was intended to help them map out their career future and plans in detail. As for the juniors, Employment Day aimed to give students feedback and advice about their target corporation and to strengthen their presentation and interview skills.

During this day, there were 4 different meeting sessions. The first session was to meet with professors from the Business Administration Department. Fifteen professors who are experts in different fields gave speeches to students who are interested in each field. Later, the students and the professors shared their ideas and opinions during the Q&A session. Secondly, special lectures were held by recruiting experts. Recruiting personnel gave various tips related to concerns that students usually have about self development for employment. These tips included strategies to succeed in getting a job, how to nurture their image, ‘know-hows’ of having successful interviews or making speeches, conducting impressive presentations or winning a contest and constructing a dream. Following these, the last two sessions were meetings with the seniors who currently force in various fields such as financial institutions and insurance companies and IT based companies.

The program did not end there, the Career Development Center is holding other sessions called the Path to One’s Career Camp’ This program is for freshmen and sophomores offering them the chance to ask themselves why they have to come to the university, what they are supposed to do in the university, and what they are going to do after graduating from school. These important questions are asked so that freshmen and sophomores can be motivated and feel enthusiastic during their university experience.
The Employment Day does not only exist in the College of Business Administration, but there are also other special lectures about careers in other departments such as the College of Social Sciences, and the College of Natural Sciences.
