Kim Do-hyun, a freshman in the Department of Forest and Environmental Systems at Kookmin University (Advisor: Kang WanMo), has been selected as a Geospatial Information Scholar for the first semester of the 2026 academic year by the Korea Land and Geospatial Information Corporation (KLGIC) Geospatial Information Scholarship Foundation. The Geospatial Information Scholarship program is designed to identify and nurture outstanding students majoring in the field of geospatial information.

Kim Do-hyun has demonstrated outstanding academic ability, consistently achieving excellent grades while diligently pursuing his studies with a focus on spatial analysis of urban and forest environments using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing. Through core major courses, he has acquired a balanced understanding of both the theory and practical application of spatial information technology and has steadily expanded his knowledge of analyzing various environmental and spatial data. Furthermore, as president of the department’s spatial information academic club, A-ZIS, he has led projects and fostered collaboration among members, growing into a well-rounded talent equipped not only with GIS analysis skills but also with leadership and organizational management abilities.

Kim Do-hyun expressed his aspirations, stating, “I hope to continue contributing to sustainable land management and the resolution of environmental issues through research on urban and forest environment analysis using GIS and remote sensing technologies.”
