Kookmin University (President JEONG, SEUNG RYUL) has posted a competitive admission ratio of 13.06:1 for the 2025 academic year. This is an increase compared to last year's 12.13:1. 

A total of 25,409 applicants applied for 1,945 seats in Kookmin University's recruitment, which closed at 18:00 on Friday, September 13th. The most competitive program was the theater major of the Faculty of Performing Arts, which had a total of 2,201 applicants for 20 spots, a 110.05 to 1 ratio. 

In terms of major programs, the Academic Excellence Program received 5,133 applications for 491 spots, a 10.45-to-1 ratio, and the National Frontier Program received 8,167 applications for 489 spots, a 16.70-to-1 ratio. For the School Life Excellence Program, 4,045 applicants applied for 369 spots, a ratio of 10.96 to 1. 

Other majors with high application competition rates were the Department of Pregnancy and Biomedical Engineering, which had 197 applicants for 7 positions and a competition rate of 28.14 to 1. For the National Frontier Program, the Department of Visual Design received 526 applications for 10 positions, a ratio of 52.60 to 1, while the Department of Artificial Intelligence received 53 applications for 2 positions, a ratio of 26.50 to 1. 

        
The Future Convergence Major, which was newly established in the 2025 academic year, had a 13.34:1 competition ratio with 667 applicants for 50 spots in the Future Convergence Major (Humanities), and a 9.64:1 competition ratio with 482 applicants for 50 spots in the Future Convergence Major (Nature).
