Research Field: AI and Digital Twin-Based Advanced Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technologies 
Leveraging her expertise in industrial pharmacy accumulated at institutions like Yuhan Corporation, Professor Joo-Eun Kim is currently conducting research on innovating pharmaceutical manufacturing processes using artificial intelligence (AI), digital twin, and continuous manufacturing technologies. 
● Development of an AI-based process prediction platform 
● Automation of pharmaceutical processes and real-time quality control technology 
● Optimization of drug design and support for rapid commercialization 
This research directly contributes to reducing manufacturing costs, improving process efficiency, and securing global-level quality competitiveness.

Strengths of Kookmin University’s Biopharmaceutical Chemistry Major 
Professor Joo-Eun Kim explains that the Biopharmaceutical Chemistry major in the School of Applied Chemistry offers a curriculum covering the entire process from drug development to approval. He adds that the system allows undergraduate students to directly participate in research and cultivate practical skills. This provides a foundation for students to perform effectively in pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and research institutes immediately after graduation.
