Zombie PC Is your computer safe?

One day a Kookminian who is an online game user she logged into the game and after five hours she logged out. Then, the page said that her ID was deleted. On inquiry, she found out that her ID was eliminated by a hacker using Zombie PC.
When a PC is infected by bot, the remote-control program, hackers can freely control the system of the infected computer. Because they can hack their way into everything, it’s called zombie PC. When a hacker gives a command to the bot program, all infected computers start to research the particular Web site or other weak systems. In this way, hackers commit crimes as they steal people’s identification or send spam e-mail. This is the how a hacker stole the Kookminian’s online game ID.
There are lots of cases where computers were hacked by zombie PC. In a recent case, at the beginning of the March, some hackers were arrested who stole over a hundred thousand names and personal information by spreading spy ware so that many computers became zombie PCs. The bot was set up to steal personal information easily when people download a file which has spy ware.
Another example is a famous web-site in Korea called DC Inside. On January, the system did not work for about 40 minutes at the site. Some users who were using the site thought that it must be North Korea’s doing, so they hacked a site Uriminzokkiri, which belongs to North Korea. However, in fact, it turned out to be a South Korean student’s doing. He also used zombie PC to hack DC Inside.
As the rate of people using the Internet increases, personal information becomes easier to expose. To get a lot of personal information, hackers made the program zombie PC. Download a vaccine, and refrain from accessing downloading-file sites is the best protection under the present conditions.
