Kookmin University (KMU) is well-knownfor having high accessibility to places wherestudents can eat, drink, and rest inside thecampus. As Jeongneung Market is locatednearby, a lot of students go there after classto blow off steam and have fun. The KookminReview would like to introduce must-go KMU restaurants or cafes that may not be sowell-known, especially to exchange studentsfrom abroad. Although they have all beenapproved by KMU students, please keep inmind that taste is a subjective thing.

1. Place N
Place N is a very special bakery that isexclusive to KMU. It always serves freshlybaked breads to KMU students and hasdeveloped its own unique menu. Its signaturebreads are the condensed milk baguette, potato baguette, and bacon garlic baguette. The condensed milk baguette is the most
highly recommended for its sweetness and crispness. Place N also serves drinks, making it a great place to solve your hunger and thirst at
the same time.

2. Mom’s Touch
On the first floor of the College of Engineering building, there is a hamburger franchise shop. After entering the main door of the building, head straight for a little while and then turn right. You should see it in front of you. Since it closes at 7:30p.m, students often have their dinner at Mom’s Touch so they do not have to leave the campus to eat. The burgers here taste like other Mom’s Touch burgers, but if you need something quick and easy, this is the place for you.

3. Chunghyang
In the College of Law building, there is a particularly luxurious restaurant. As soon as you arrive on the fifth floor, find the automatic glass door. A staff member at the desk will greet you and guide you to a seat, where you can order your food. Not only does Chunghyang serve delicious food, but it cares about giving customers the nutrients they need too. It might be a bit expensive, but if you have something to celebrate, Chunghyang is a great spot. The menu is different every day, so please check the KMU Consumer Cooperative Association website before heading over.

4. Underground (Jihasegye)
As its name suggests, this restaurant is located underground. It is right in front of KMU’s main gate and always full of students and nearby residents, gathered together for a hearty meal. The most popular dishes on Underground’s menu are stir-fried spicy pork and budae soup. The stir-fried spicy pork is served with crispy onions and cabbage, creating a harmonious taste. Not only is the texture and seasoning of the food appropriate for everyone, the prices are affordable as  well. The lowest price is 6,000 won and the highest is 20,000 won. If you want to kill two birds — good food at a low price taste — with one stone, Underground is the place you have been looking for. Stop going to low-quality restaurants. Stop filling your stomach with reheated convenience store food. Restaurants with mouthwatering food are closer than you know. Pick up your phone and Google these! Do not hesitate to live your daily life with warm, flavorful food.
