English Reading Quiz Contest

On November 11, the English Reading Quiz Contest was held. This contest, first held last semester, was organized by the professors of English reading classes, who prepared everything for the event, including the quiz questions, snacks, a photo zone, and prizes.
Driven by their dedication to educating young people, the professors developed new English Reading Books and always use many different media in their English classes to keep things interesting and exciting. As an extension of this, they decided to hold an event, which turned out to be the English Reading Quiz Contest. This is one of the many interesting approaches to English learning that they sought to share with their students, reflecting the great deal of thought they put into the style of their classes.
The difference between this contest and the one held last semester is that the professors tried to prepare the event in a much more systematic way. The professors decided to set up a photo zone, offer more prizes, secure a bigger space, and come up with more quiz questions. Although last semester's contest was a mandatory, in-class activity, participating in this year’s contest was voluntary.
The first part of the contest was the OX quiz. Students who are in top 5 could get the prize. There were short-answer questions, too. Next was the Kahoot quiz, in which students could choose answers from among some examples, similar to multiple-choice questions. The prizewinners were not only the students with the highest scores but also some randomly ranked students as well, meaning that even those who were unable to get high scores still had some hope of winning a prize. The last part of the contest was the team quiz, in which teams of about 20 students each competed to answer quiz questions on a wide range of topics.
One of the most popular events among the students was the prize draw. Many students wanted to win a pair of AirPods, but there were many other gifts as well, including gift vouchers, Starbucks tumblers, and books. And there were many different events through which students could win these prizes. The professors and students all enjoyed this event. I hope this contest has given many students the opportunity to become more familiar with English, just like the professors hoped.
