Kookmin University held an exhibition at its Special Gallery from Feb. 11 to March 29.
During last year's summer and winter vacations, Kookmin University's museum implemented education programs as a basis for this exhibition, providing career explorations to high school students in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas.
Through this program, the Kookmin University museum educated high school freshmen and sophomores who were interested in museums and art gallery work. During summer vacation, the career exploration took place across 10 days with the theme "Dreaming Curator." It featured lectures on "Exhibition Planning," field trips, meetings with a professional curator, and other various activities aimed at fostering a real experience. During the winter vacation, considering the fact that the schedule in summer was quite long, the program was held across five days with the theme "We are the Curators." Through this session, students actively participated and eventually came up with a fresh outcome, the "Model Gallery," which is on display at the exhibition. Once all the programs are finished, students planned an actual exhibition composed of their own exhibition room, enabling them to become real curators in their right.

As you first enter the gallery, students' exhibition plans, their purposes and processes, are all detailed on the left- and right-hand sides, both written and drawn in glass tubes. In the middle of the gallery are the most interesting displays of the whole exhibition, the "Model Galleries." Ten different minimized exhibition rooms enumerate the gallery, containing a variety of topics, including Koryeo Celadon, Folk Paintings of Western and Asian Culture, and the Afterlife.
