To make salt-water, mix one of cup lukewarm water and one teaspoon of salt. Lean your head over a basin, and put salt-water into your nose with syringe. One nostril at a time and let it drain. Repeat two to three times, and then treat the other nostril. Also for sore throat, saltwater gargle may have some merit. Gargling warm water with a teaspoon of salt four times daily may help moisten sore throat and bring temporary relief.
Cold Remedy #4: Sleep with an extra pillow under your head. This will help drain the nasal passages. If the angle is too awkward, try placing the pillows between the mattresses to make a more gradual slope. It is important to breathe air in right way against a cold or flu.
Cold Remedy #5: Stay warm and rested. Staying warm and resting when you first come down with a cold or the flu helps your body gather its energy for the immune battle. So give it a little help by lying down under a blanket to stay warm.

Eating ginger raw or drinking ginger tea are both popular natural folk remedies. Steep several slices of fresh ginger root in hot water and sip for an extra health boost or to soothe a cough or relieve throat.

One of the best ways to take advantage of garlic’s healing properties is by drinking fresh garlic tea. Chop or crush 1-2 cloves of garlic and steep them in hot water, then, drink it like a tea.

Mix 1-2 teaspoons honey and mild hot water and drink it like tea.
