Kim Min-seong, a student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung Ryul; advisor: Professor Kim Jaekang), won the Best Poster Award at the undergraduate poster competition held during the “2026 Fall Conference of the Micro-Nano Systems Society,” which took place over three days from Wednesday, September 30, to Friday, October 2, at the Hwabaek Convention Center in Gyeongju.
 
Kim Min-seong presented on the topic “Study on Conditions for Improving the Service Life of Silicon Molds in UV R2R Processes for the Mass Production of Complex 3D Patterns.” The UV roll-to-roll (R2R) imprinting process is a technology capable of continuously mass-producing fine 3D patterns over large areas; however, surface damage to the silicone mold and deterioration in release performance during repeated molding processes have been identified as factors limiting mass-production feasibility. In this study, the researchers analyzed the effects of UV exposure conditions and resin composition on mold life and proposed process conditions capable of extending mold life, thereby increasing the potential for stable mass production of complex 3D patterns.
