Offering a fit solution ‘Digital Creation Design Workflow’
Thirdeye was selected as an excellent corporation in 2009, and in 2011 it advanced technology by receiving environment certifications such as ISO9001, ISO14001 and Inno-Biz certification, and received a reward for a ‘good working corporation in Gyeonggi-do.’ Specifically, the fit solution called ‘Digital Creation Design Workflow’ that complicated processes turn to fit on each working environment from the concept step to VR (Virtual Reality) is a core of Thirdeye, as it is based on sense of the best creative worldwide. President Jung of Thirdeye Inc. said, “Our company proposes that we direct the way for new investment and be extremely effective in shortening the design period and reducing developing expenses.” He added, “Recently we have been developing a 3D VR application (sign language translation system), leading the future in the new tech-consulting business field, as this application will be used this year.” Recently, Thirdeye developed illuminated car seats based on the coupling environment technology. This item has a ‘sensitive function’ through an ergonomic design to change light and sound, etc. by applying the optical fiber technology of PSO. Also, they are equipped with a ‘security function’ to respond to a door being opened, to seat belts not being worn and to speed. This technology can be applied to other industrial businesses or interiors so we expect to have a great ripple effect with it. In addition, President Jung is planning to process a new business and develop an ‘individual transportation tool’ using electricity for the future. He has the confidence to draw enormous attention to this business. President Jung explained, “Toyota, Mazda, JVC, etc. are main clients. In the domestic market, we have a long collaborative relationship with Hyundai and Kia Motors, but we are also gradually trying to pioneer the global market. Recently, we have been processing business focused on the international market more than the domestic one.”
President Jung, who used to
work in the design division of Hyundai Motors after graduating from the
Department of Design at Kookmin University, said: “I realized there was a high
barrier in the world market when I first entered it running my first
corporation, but as time has gone by the high barrier has been getting lower, so
I am building my brand power into a world market.” As a result, he determined
for “our corporation to get a top award by exporting 3 million pieces last year
and by winning a million again.” Meanwhile Thirdeye opened a new office in
Suwon. He said “there has not been one complaint in our company even though we
moved our office from Seoul to Suwon. I appreciate our employees who trust the
company as much as they do. In response, our company will make a concerted
effort for our employees.” Practice for innovative management by giving
something back to the community of a basic spirit. President Jung puts stress on
personality more than ability when he selects executives and staff members. Even
though he is from the Department of Visual Design at Kookmin University and
serving as an alumnus president, there is no one from Kookmin University in his
corporation. They are rather from local universities. This is because he doesn’t
care about school relationships or kinship saying he doesn’t have the thinking
of corporate succession and told the youth, “Don’t be concerned about studying
too much.” He tells them to do what they want in order to give them motivation
for studying. He added, “I am not pushing anything for the youth; I just want
them to experience the things that interest them and then they can find their
aptitude naturally.”
