The Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung Ryul) Anchor (formerly RISE) Project Team held a results-sharing session for the “Video-Based AI Content Production Project with NC AI” on the 8th at the NC AI (CEO Lee Yeon-soo) headquarters, where they unveiled video content created by students using generative AI.
This project was organized as part of the “Creative Industry Talent Development” initiative under the Seoul Anchor Project. It aimed to enhance students’ proficiency in using generative AI and their practical video production skills through industry-linked, hands-on extracurricular programs, while supporting the creation of creative works and portfolios that can be utilized for employment and entrepreneurship.

Six current students from Kookmin University were selected to participate in the project, which ran for approximately four months starting last May. The students used NC AI’s AI production solution, “VARCO,” to plan and produce video content themselves. They utilized tools such as “VARCO 3D,” which generates 3D assets based on text, and “VARCO Sound,” an AI sound tool that analyzes images and videos to generate background music and sound effects tailored to the context, during the actual production process.
In addition to training on how to use AI tools, the program included a total of five mentoring sessions designed to help students grow into “planning-oriented designers.” Industry experts, including Yoo Jin from NC AI’s Education Business Team, served as mentors, providing guidance on the role of video designers in the AI era, portfolio planning and production using VARCO, refining personal project planning, and designing practical workflows.
In particular, the first mentoring session held last June was expanded into a special lecture on the theme of “Directions for Building a Creator’s Portfolio in the AI Era.” Approximately 50 students—including not only those participating in the project but also students from departments involved in the Creative Industry Talent Development Program—took part in the session to explore changes in the industry driven by AI technology and career paths in the creative fields.

At the project showcase, five works—△“Pepperoni Pizza” (Jo Yu-bin and Nam Yi-rang) △“Sanshin” (Song Hae-yeon) △“LOVE · OCEAN · STAR” (Jung Da-eun) △“Aethelgard” (Lee Da-hyun), and △“Seongbuk Local Department Store” (Lee Seung-bin)—were screened on the large media wall at the NC AI headquarters. The students created content in various formats, including animated videos, virtual idol trailers, 3D environment works, and brand films, demonstrating the potential of generative AI in creative content production.
At the showcase, the students shared their production experiences and final works with their mentors, bringing the project to a close. Students who completed the entire program were awarded certificates as “NC AI VARCO Official Creators,” and opportunities will be provided for the commercialization of their future creative works and related activities.
Park Ju-ha, a researcher at Kookmin University’s Anchor Project Team, which organized the project, said, “It was a meaningful opportunity for students to work directly with AI generative solutions actually used in the industry and to experience the entire production pipeline, from planning to screening their works on a media wall.” She added, “We will continue to discover diverse industry-academic collaboration programs that integrate AI technology with artistic planning and creativity, while focusing on nurturing talent who will lead the next generation of the creative industries.”
Na Gyu-bong, Head of the AI Education Business Team at NC AI, said, “We will continue to expand our collaboration with universities and educational institutions to connect technologies used in the industry with education. Through ongoing educational cooperation with Kookmin University’s creative industry talent development program, we will also contribute to nurturing talent who can transform AI technology into creative capabilities.”
