Kookmin University (President Seung-Ryul Jung) announced that it will host the 2nd IFIP WG 8.4 International Symposium (EBISION 2026) from July 8 to 10 at the Academic Conference Hall of the University Headquarters and other venues on its Seoul campus. As the official flagship event of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) Working Group 8.4, the symposium serves as a global platform for sharing the latest research achievements and industry trends in e-business, ICT convergence, information security, and data-driven digital innovation. The conference is chaired by Professor Ilsun You of the Department of Information Security, Cryptology, and Mathematics at Kookmin University, who also serves as Director of the Global ICT Convergence Security Innovation Research Center.

EBISION 2026 will bring together researchers and industry professionals from 11 countries, including Korea, Denmark, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Greece, Spain, Thailand, Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Indonesia. The symposium comprises a total of 91 peer-reviewed papers, with 50 oral presentations and 41 poster presentations. Notably, more than half of the presenters are international researchers affiliated with overseas institutions, highlighting the symposium's stature as a truly global academic event.

The keynote speeches and invited sessions will feature internationally recognized experts in ICT and cybersecurity. Keynote speakers include Professor Tei-Wei Kuo, former Vice President of National Taiwan University and current Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Delta Electronics; Professor Nicola Dragoni of the Technical University of Denmark, a leading scholar in Nordic cybersecurity research; and Professor Antonio F. Skarmeta of the University of Murcia, Spain, who leads major cybersecurity projects funded by the European Union (EU).

In addition, the invited session will highlight Professor Manos Varvarigos, Vice Rector of the National Technical University of Athens, one of Greece's premier universities and a leading institution for engineering education in Europe. He will present the latest research on next-generation network architectures and high-performance computing (HPC) security. Together, these distinguished speakers will discuss key topics including AI-driven digital transformation, cyber threat intelligence, data security, and trusted information sharing, offering valuable insights into the future of digital technologies.

Beyond academic discussions, the symposium includes an industry session showcasing the latest technological innovations and market trends. Eight leading ICT and cybersecurity companies will participate, including KT, Korea's leading telecommunications provider, ZenmuTech of Japan, a pioneer in secret-sharing technology, Sangfor, a leading cybersecurity company from China, and AI DataBrushing Technology of Taiwan. The participating companies will present their latest technologies through technical presentations and live demonstrations. KT, in particular, will introduce its vision for a "Four-Layer Network Security Framework for the AI and Quantum Era," demonstrating the practical application of cutting-edge research while fostering stronger global industry-academia collaboration.

Professor Ilsun You, General Chair of EBISION 2026, stated, "EBISION 2026 brings together researchers and industry experts in e-business information systems and ICT convergence security to discuss the most pressing challenges and opportunities in the future digital landscape. We hope this symposium will further strengthen Korea's and Kookmin University's position as a global hub for ICT convergence security research and international industry-academia collaboration."
