Our university's Global Leading Research Center (ERC) and Ametek Korea's Zygo Division jointly hosted the ‘Zygo Certified Testing Lab’ event. This designation was highly regarded as a significant milestone for advancing precision measurement technology and strengthening global competitiveness within Korea.

The event was attended by Interim Dean Lim Si Hyung of the College of Creative Engineering, Professor Hong John from the School of Materials Science & Engineering, Kurt Redlitz, Vice President of Technology at Zygo headquarters, Choi Young Hwan, Managing Director of Zygo Korea, and Kwon Yong Jae, Manager.

Through this collaboration, both institutions plan to pursue joint research focused on advanced skin and microstructure precision measurement in the robotics field, and surface analysis of next-generation secondary batteries.

A representative from Kookmin University's ERC Center emphasized, “The designation of Professor Hong Seung Hyun's laboratory as a Certified Testing Lab will elevate our research capabilities to the next level,” adding, “We will accelerate future technology development through industry-academia collaboration.”

An official from Amitek Korea's Zygo Business Division stated, “This collaboration with Kookmin University will demonstrate the excellence of Zygo technology and contribute to the development of the domestic research ecosystem,” adding, “We will continue to lead innovation by providing precision measurement solutions across diverse industrial sectors.”
