Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung Ryul) held its 2024 Fall Semester Degree Conferment Ceremony on Wednesday, August 20, organized separately by each college and graduate school. Attended by numerous students and parents, the ceremony conferred degrees upon 1,650 graduates (950 bachelor's, 587 master's, 113 doctoral degrees).

Kookmin University has provided diverse support to enable graduates to successfully complete their studies despite the rapidly changing social environment following COVID-19. The stabilization of the Next-Generation ON Kookmin Portal, the online learning environment provided through E-campus based on this platform, data-driven learning design support, and career exploration through K-Smart Mentor have all fostered students' self-directed capabilities.

Beyond enhancing its online systems, Kookmin University is leaping forward as a leader in next-generation technology. It became the first in Korea to declare a ‘Quantum Campus,’ establishing quantum technology-based educational infrastructure and convergent curricula. The university has particularly strengthened its future-oriented curriculum centered on AI, digital technology, and international education. It is cultivating practical talent aligned with industry demands, focusing on cutting-edge departments researching the latest technologies.

As a result of these comprehensive educational innovations and efforts, the university has achieved the highest results, including receiving an S-grade for educational innovation performance for three consecutive years in the Ministry of Education's University Innovation Support Project evaluation. Graduates are expected to thrive as creative, problem-solving global talents across future industries, leveraging this unique educational environment and experience at Kookmin University.

In his congratulatory address, President Jeong Seung Ryul emphasized, “Amidst the major paradigm shift in technology led by AI and quantum technology, you graduates are the protagonists who will reshape humanity's future.” He added, “In this rapidly changing era, what matters more than the technology itself is the creativity and attitude of the humans who utilize it.” He urged, “Based on the spirit of ‘Challenging Kookmin People,’ Kookmin University's ideal talent, I hope you will challenge yourselves toward your life goals, viewing uncertainty not as something to fear but as an opportunity, and grow into talents who lead the future.”
