Kookmin University (President JEONG, SEUNG RYUL) announced that its LINC3.0 project group held the 2024 Industrial LINCage Festival for Global Leaders, sponsored by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the National Research Foundation of Korea, in collaboration with 11 universities in Seoul (Kyung Hee University, Korea University, Kookmin University, Dongguk University, Sogang University, Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Sungkyunkwan University, Sookmyung Women's University, Chung-Ang University, Hanyang University, and Hanyang Women's University) from May 5 to 15.

The participants of the 2024 Global Festival, which kicked off with an opening ceremony at Hanyang University's Olympic Gymnasium on May 5, conducted activities such as ▲ visiting companies in new growth industries in Seoul, ▲ preparing projects to solve corporate problems, and ▲ presenting to corporate representatives. On August 12, a youth symposium was held to celebrate International Youth Day, and on August 13, the final project pitches, award ceremony, and closing ceremony were held.

The global festival aimed to attract multinational talent and promote public-industry-academic cooperation based on Seoul Vision 2030, and 247 students (118 foreigners and 129 Koreans) from 31 countries participated. From Kookmin University, two facilitators and family companies Norisface and Erid participated, along with 10 students (5 domestic and 5 overseas).

Participants visited companies in key industries in Seoul for team discussions and mentoring. Guided by 44 facilitators who received three months of pre-training to develop practical problem-solving skills, the students presented feasible solutions to their matched companies through activities such as: researching local and industrial problems; visiting and working on project sites; and connecting with the Capstone Design program. Through this, the participating companies were able to promote themselves and create synergy through cooperation with global youth.

Leading figures from governments and international organizations, including former Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo and Nguyen Huy Nguyen, Director of the Planning Department of Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology, attended the program to congratulate the participants on their dedication and enthusiasm, and the school said it plans to promote networking and collaboration among the participants after the program.

“Although the 2024 Global Festival event is coming to an end, it is a new starting point for the participating students and I believe it will be a strong driving force to brighten their future,” said Lee, Inhyung, head of the LINC3.0 project at Kookmin University, in his closing remarks.

Meanwhile, the universities participating in the LINC3.0 project in Seoul plan to foster innovative talents based on the ecosystem of public-industry-academic cooperation in preparation for the Regional Innovation Centered University Support System (RISE), a local government-led university support system in 2025.
