The Department of Architectural Design at the Graduate School of Techno Design at Kookmin University (President JEONG, SEUNG RYUL) has been awarded the highest level of architectural education accreditation by the Korea Architectural Accreditation Board (KAAB).

Architectural education program accreditation is a system that grants educational certification by the Korea Architectural Accreditation Board and is required to take the architect qualification exam. 

The accreditation of architectural education programs begins with a candidate qualification examination by KAAB, followed by a three-day on-site inspection, and the final deliberation and decision by the KAAB Board of Directors. 

The program's strengths include a high-tech convergence curriculum centered on the Smart Space Lab and Urban Architecture Lab, hosting the Dokdo International Competition for the past 12 years through the efforts of the Department of Architecture and Design, and excellent research achievements by students and faculty. In addition, the high level of student pride in the program, the dedication of the faculty, and the close ties between current students and alumni were also highly praised.

This makes Kookmin the only university in Korea to receive KAAB's accreditation for its architectural education programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. “Inheriting the architectural education philosophy of the late Professor Kim Soo-geun, the first dean of the College of Architecture, we will continue to strive to achieve our educational goal of fostering future-responsive architects with the ability to solve social problems and creativity based on cutting-edge science and technology,” said KIM,YONG-SEONG, chair of the Department of Architecture and Design.
