A group of young designers, consisting of Professor Kim Jee Eun and four graduate students from the Department of Spatial Culture and Design at the Graduate School of Techno Design, was selected for the "Young Designers + Corporate Brand Exhibition".

The exhibition is part of Seoul Design 2024, Korea's leading design business MICE event hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and organized by the Seoul Design Foundation, and is an industry-academia project that proposes young designers' brilliant ideas and new insights as branding designs. Through the linkage of university education and companies, it develops products and brands that reflect the trends of the MZ generation, and helps young designers gain employment and start their own businesses. It is expected to be a design laboratory where ideals and reality meet to envision a brilliant future.

The Kookmin University team, which is a collaboration of 'young designers (mentees) + expert mentors + companies', is composed of Professor Kim Jee Eun of the Department of Spatial Culture and Design at the Graduate School of Techno Design, along with a group of young designers Nam Ye Jin (PhD student/mentor), Noh Shin Yup (PhD student), Choi Se Ryung (Master's student), Han Sung Gu (Master's student), and Saturn Bath, a bathroom lifestyle company.

"As the first team selected from a graduate school majoring in spatial design, we plan to showcase new living spaces and objects that have never been experienced before, and we hope it will be an opportunity for students to grow as creative designers," said mentor Professor Kim Jee Eun.

A total of 18 teams were selected for the project, including Hongik University, Hanyang University, Seoul National University, Ewha Womans University, Sookmyung Women's University, Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Kyung Hee University, Sangmyung University, Jeju National University, Nam Seoul National University, and Mokwon National University.

The results of the design workshops will be presented as a corporate brand exhibition at Seoul Design 2024, which will be held from October 17 to October 27, 2024 at DDP Art Hall 1. For more information, please visit the official website of Seoul Design 2024.
