Kookmin University (KMU)’s Graduate School of Business Administration (Director Choi Byung-Koo) concluded a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Scout (CEO Moon Young-Chul) on Oct. 20 (Thursday) for the management of a joint project on the artificial intelligence (AI) and the establishment of a cooperative system for human resources (HR) training.

Through this arrangement, the two organizations have decided to cooperate on developing AI and big data technologies in the employment sector and usable AI models jointly implementing projects related to AI and big data, establishing a public relations system, and planning and operating state-funded education and research projects.

KMU’s Graduate School of Business Administration is the nation’s first educational institution to offer a master’s degree related to AI and big data. Based on existing research and data, the business school will develop AI application models for employment, support research and development personnel, and carry out new projects.

Scout is a company specialized in HR that generates profits through offline services such as headhunting, HR consulting, recruitment agency, career management, and outplacement based on online recreation services, and possesses a large amount of big data on employment. Through this business agreement, the company will support the implementation of AI technology in the job employment sector, and cooperate with the government
and national institutions in conducting education and research projects, and establish a promotion system for HR training.

Through this arrangement, the two organizations promised to engage in mutual developmental cooperation. They discussed the development and application of AI models that can be adopted immediately in practical areas where AI technology is being actively introduced, as well as HR training plans, and
big data collection and processing in the employment sector.

“This is a good opportunity to apply AI, big data, and talent to this area,” said Choi Byung-Koo, head of the Graduate School of Business Administration. “Through this business arrangement, we will do our best to share various ways of contributing to technological and industrial development in the employment sector.”

Scout CEO Moon Young-Chul said “The fact that this business agreement has the potential to be transformed into a cooperative system through active exchanges between our two institutions raises expectations for shared growth.” He also went on to say, “I am happy to share the task of applying AI technology to the field as an exemplary example of domestic industry-academic research.”

KMU’s Graduate School of Business Administration has been operating a Business Analytics and Statistics major since 2013 to foster practical AI and big data professionals. The recruitment period for the program for the 2023 school year is from Oct. 24 to Nov. 14.
