To better utilize the Sungkok Library

Are you searching for a great place to find useful sources and read some books? Sungkok library is the perfect place for both. Here is some information about Sungkok Library that you can read with a quick glance.
1st Floor
- To enter the library, students must place their student ID cards on top of the reader on the glass turnstile. After a second the turnstile will open automatically.
- Right after entering the turnstile, on the lefthand side, there are auto returning machines which students can use to either checkout or return books (except for reserved books or books including attached materials).
- The central checkout room on the left offers students a book loan and return service. In this room, there are shelves arranged with new arrivals. Students can rent these materials immediately. Then there are stairs on the right which lead to where all the other books are.
- On the right side of the lobby is the multimedia information room. In this room, there are different multimedia zones where anyone can enjoy all kinds of non-book materials. In the PC zone, students can use computers to search for information, prepare for projects, and surf the internet. Also there is a comfortable chair ready for students to watch movies or dramas alone in the DVD zone. Lastly, students can enjoy different kinds of seminars, audio-visual education, or movies in the A/V room.
- Further into the lobby, there are restrooms on the left, stairs that lead to the other reading rooms upstairs, and the first floor reading room and the auto seat ticket machine. Students must issue the seat tickets with their student cards through the auto seat ticket machines in the lobby to study in the reading rooms. A seat ticket is valid for up to 6 hours except during the exam period when it is for 3 hours. A seat time extension is also available.
2nd Floor
- Literature/History Room: The first section one can see when one comes up to the second floor is the Literature/History section. There are many useful books on Literature (800) and History (900) that students can freely read and borrow. If someone is looking for a specific book, students can always search for the book number through the Sungkok library website with the computers in the right corner or with a smartphone application. After finding the number of the specific book, there is a sign with the numbers that each shelf contains.
- Human Science Room: On the right side of the Literature/History section, there is another door that leads to the Human Science Room. In this room, books on Philosophy (100), Religion (200), Language (400) and Chinese fields are available.
- On right side of the building, there is a reading room and another reading room for laptop users. To take a seat in these reading rooms, students must issue the seat ticket from the first floor.
3rd Floor
- Social Science Room: The first door to the third floor is the Social Science room. In this room, there are books on Social Science (300) and Business Administration (650-658).
- Natural Science/Arts Room: On the right side of the Social Science room, a door leads to a Natural Science and Arts section. This section offers books on Natural Science (500), Music and Performance Arts (788-799) that students can read and loan.
- Technical Science Room: On the right of the building, crossing a bridge, there are books about General Works (000) and Technical Science (600).
4th Floor
- Reference/Periodicals Room: In the Reference Book Corner, there are encyclopedias of all fields, a variety of language dictionaries, biographical dictionaries, regulations, precedents, statistics, catalogues, maps, and indexes. Also, there are domestic and foreign magazines, journals, thesis, research papers, and ewspapers, and periodicals published by academic societies and institutions in this room. One point about this room is that nothing in this room can be borrowed.
- Design Library: The building on the right is the Design Library.
5th Floor
- Reading Room: This reading room does not offer a seat ticket. It is open to the public.
- Carrel and Collaboration Room: Carrel and Collaboration room is useful for instructors, researchers, and doctoral graduate students. In this room, people can utilize many library materials freely. In order to use one of these rooms, one must reserve a room through the school library’s website.
- Carrel for students: This section is a great place to concentrate on one’s studies. To take a seat in this section, students need to issue a ticket through the auto seat ticket machine in the lobby.
