The Russian-Korean cultural exchange festival < Снародом > takes place in the middle of November. The < Снародом > is hosted by the students of Studies of Russia, the School of International Areas and Studies. All KMU students and students of other universities are invited to take part in and enjoy the festival. The < Снародом > is a Russian word meaning “with people,” and it contains the meaning of having an enjoyable time with variety of people. This event was a major festival in the School of International Areas and Studies a few years later. However, due to the budget problems and lose of interest, the < Снародом > was not held after 2008.
The purpose of reviving the festival is to better understand and to acknowledge Russian culture and its values. The festival offers various cultural and exciting contents such as traditional Russian dance performances, Russian-Korean students’ joint performances and student participating lottery with desirable prizes. The number of students of Studies of Russia are also planning to prepare the traditional Russian food and cultural exhibition.
The festival is still in the stage of conceptualization so there can be some changes in plan. However, there is no doubt that anyone interested in Russian culture and looking for fun can enjoy the event. Since many international students are expected to come, it will also be a great opportunity to experience various culture. Look out for the notice in November and make some unforgettable memories at the festival.
