<Earthquake in Japan> Kookmin University will accept all exchange students from Japan

Sung Woo Lee, the President of Kookmin University, decided to accept all exchange students from universities with whom we have a partnership in Japan as Japan is suffering from the terrible earthquake occurred recently.  

Currently, Kookmin University has sisterhood relationship with 17 universities in Japan; two of them: Tohoku and Ibaraki Universities suffered extremely severe damage. Students from these schools can come to Kookmin University as exchange students regardless of the number and majors. This information has also been delivered to the Embassy of Japan in Seoul.

According to the partnership contract, Kookmin and Tohoku Universities had a limit of sending 2 students per year. In the case of Kookmin University, the exchange program was applied only to the International Studies majors; in the case of Tohoku University, the program only applied to the Department of Law. In regards to Ibaraki University, there was a limit of sending 2 students per year, regardless of their specialization.
President Sung Woo Lee mentioned that it is his responsibility as a sister institution to restore and strengthen the process of education for its partners.
