For the Russian policy advisory of the 2013 Knowledge Sharing Program (hereinafter called KSP) that is hosted by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and executed by the Korea Development Institute, the Institute of Eurasian Studies in Kookmin University (Research director: Yun-hui Gang, participating professor: Sang-joon Lee, Sang-won Kim, Jae-sin Park) was selected and with this, approximately 224 million won of project fund will be supported for a year. 

Started in 2004, KSP is a knowledge-intensive development cooperation that aims to contribute to economic and social development by carrying out policy research, advisory, and training program in accordance with the demand and situation of the target country and supporting the construction of system and competence cultivation of a cooperating country based on the development experience promoted in Korea, which enabled rapid development from the status of the world’s poorest nation to a top 10 global economic power in a short span of time.

At the request of the Russian government, the Institute of Eurasian Studies will consult reorganization of the administration system to improve the environment of investment induction in the Maritime Provinces and reinforce the Investment Induction Authority of the Maritime Provinces while reviewing the social and economic development strategy of the Maritime Provinces from 2013 to 2017 and constructing detailed promotional plan. In doing so, it is expected to lay out the foundation that can expand the mutual understanding as well as economic cooperation between the two countries and expedite the promotion of Korean companies into the Russian market.

 
Knowledge Sharing Program: It is a business that shares the unique economic experience of Korea with its implementation while inducing economic development and since its initiation in 2004, customized policy consulting has been promoted to 34 countries, involving about 30 projects. With the vastly improved awareness on this business in the international society, the demand of target countries has been remarkably increased and participation of consulting businesses within Korea is also expanded. Under such circumstance, this project was carried out to solidify the promotional foundation of the KSP business and improve the business transparency and objectivity of KSP.
