Professor Ban Young Hwan, Adjunct Professor Namkung Kiechan, and four master's and doctoral researchers from the Department of AI Design at KU have created an online girl group music video using AI technology.

The AI girl group in the music video is named KI:G, and the three members are from Korea, China, and Japan. AI programs were used in most of the production process, including planning, music production, character creation, design, and video editing.

The music video was premiered at the 5th International Student Media Arts Festival (ISMA) 2024 in Seoul last month (May 27), along with the song "One Step," and received a lot of positive responses from the audience.

The song was composed by Professor Namkung Kiehan, who has been active as a popular music composer for many years. 

"We tried to create a music video that can be called a comprehensive content in a situation where various AI technologies are pouring in," said Professor Nam, "We are not 100% satisfied with the result, but it is meaningful that it was created by professors and students in the design field, not entertainment experts."

"We attempted this project from the perspective of expanding the scope of design," said Professor Ban Young Hwan. "As AI is affecting all fields, we will continue to think about how to accommodate AI in design."
