Kookmin University alumnus Lee Young Jik (PE 10) was appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Sports Industry at Korea National University of Transportation in March 2024. 

After graduating from KU's Department of Physical Education (10th class), Lee Young Jik went to Washington State University in the United States and earned a master's degree in sports management. He then earned his Ph.D. in sports management (specialization: sports policy) from the University of Louisville, U.S.A. He has conducted various policy research related to elite student-athletes and published numerous papers in national and international journals. 

Currently, Professor Lee Young Jik is conducting active research activities through industry-academia collaboration with various sports-related organizations such as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Sports Policy Institute, and the Korea Institute of Sport and Culture.
