Yubin Kim, a graduate of KU's Department of Sociology and a researcher at the Kookmin*Twin Institute, will be attending the State University of New York-University of Albany's master's program in criminology from August with a scholarship.

The State University of New York-University of Albany is a world-class, research-oriented university ranked as the No. 2 graduate school in criminology by U.S. News & World Report in 2024. As a State University of New York Dean's List Scholar, Yubin Kim will receive partial tuition and an additional living stipend each semester.

She became interested in various social phenomena during her undergraduate studies and began participating in various academic festivals, and later, with the determination to pursue research that could contribute to society, she chose to major in applied psychology and worked as a researcher at the Kookmin*Twin Research Center (Director; Professor Yoonmi Heo, College of Liberal Arts). While working as a researcher, she collected data and explored the genetic and environmental characteristics of 'behavioral addiction' with Professor Yoonmi Heo, and the results will be published in an SSCI-level international journal. He also plans to conduct research on urban crime prevention and crime intervention based on advanced analytical models in his master's program at the State University of New York-Albany.
