Professor Nam Suk Kyung (Counseling Psychology)

Professor Nam Sook-kyung, a counseling psychology major at the Graduate School of Education, has been elected as the 2024-2025 president of the Korean Society of School Psychology, an affiliate of the Korean Psychological Association.

The Korean Society of School Psychology evaluates the psychological, social, and behavioral aspects of all students in schools, and conducts intervention, early detection, and prevention activities to solve problems experienced by students.

As the mental health crisis among students is on the rise, prevention and intervention are being emphasized. 

During her term as chair, Nam said she will do her best to support students, teachers, and parents with mental health services by strengthening linkages and collaboration with support systems inside and outside of schools and establishing a school mental health safety net. 

Her term as president will run from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025.
