Standing at the End of my Last Semester

Graduation doesn’t mean that everything is finished, but everything has to be ready for a new life in front of me. Despite this common and normal thought, it’s true that graduation from the university is not always an exciting event for me because I have to run out into the large job market and become a job hunter. Actually that’s why I have been only thinking about my future and I have had no time to look back so far.

I heard that, thesedays, there are many senior graduate-to-be students who don’t want to graduate from their school so soon because the unemployment rate this year is higher than ever. They usually consider delaying their graduation. According to a research company, Pollever, 39% of 700 university students said that they would delay their graduation if they have trouble finding a job. Personally, I am not planning to delay graduation, but this kind of news doesn’t sound good either.

By the way, right before writing this down, I was thinking of my college life. As a student having only one semester left to graduate, now I would like to look back at how my college life has been.
I still remember the first impression I had when I first stepped through the entrance of KMU and how excited I felt about my new school. Sometimes I still feel fresh when I see Yongduri, walking to class.

What should one say about one’s college life? It could be how many friends you have made or whether you were in a club or not. Or it could be about your grades or whether you got a scholarship or not? Or how much time you spent doing volunteer work or improving yourself? Yes, it could be anything you are thinking of. What I would like to say is that no matter what it is, the thing that really matters is whether you are satisfied with your college life or not.

Personally speaking, I think my last five years, including the year that I was absent  from this school, gave me many chances to do something new that I’d never experienced before, and it taught me so many things. Especially, I loved being a member of C-Bar, the advertising club of my major. I had a lot of good experiences making relationships with people and learning about leadership. However, what I regret so far is that I’ve been idle and lazy about improving myself. I should have done things more actively and seen things more positively and widely. Moreover, now I know that sometimes I could have been more aggressive, for it’s ok with young people even though they might make a mistake. Of course getting a good grade or getting a good TOEIC score is also important, but I would like every student at KMU to do as many different things as you can, even though you don’t have enough time for it.

This autumn has already gone and winter is coming soon. If you are standing at the end of your last semester and waiting for graduation, you must be under some stress and so many thoughts in your mind might be bothering you. Even if you have been busy so far, it would be nice for you to take some time to be alone and look back at yourself and your college life in silence one day just like I am doing today.

Even though time has been passing quickly and everything has been changing, so you forgot about all the fresh moments in your mind, please remember that the spirit of KMU and Yongduri with its glorious-shape will cheer you for your passion and always welcome you. Besides, they are going to welcome new students next year and forever more just like always.
