The Graduate School of Kookmin University participated in the ‘TALENTE 2015’ held in Munich, Germany. The artworks of Yu-min Kim (Class of 2010), Ji-ye Yun (Class of 2012), and Min-ji Jo (Class of 2012) from the Department of Metalwork and Jewelry were exhibited.

‘TALENTE’ is an event that finds and introduces young and new artists younger than 30 years old in the field of crafts, design, and technology. Since 1989, this international event has been held every year. Artworks were exhibited in the exhibition that was held for seven consecutive days in a space measuring 600m². Jewelry artists, collectors, people interested in galleries, jewelry major students, and jewelry lovers from all over the world gathered around to directly see the artworks.

In the Handwerksmesse International Exhibition, the modern jewelry exhibition ‘Schmuck’ (an exhibition of the artworks of about 60 active jewelry artists) was held with ‘TALENTE.’ About 138,000 people visited the exhibition in the previous year.
A catalogue describing the details of all artworks in the exhibition was published and sold. The event this year was held from March 11th to 17th and 99 young artists from 32 countries were invited. About three to five students and their artworks from the Graduate School of Metalwork and Jewelry of Kookmin University are introduced every year to visitors from Europe and other countries.

Coinciding with the TALENTE event in Munich is the ‘Munich Jewelry Week.’ This period is considered to be the most important time of the year for jewelry artists and jewelry lovers. In every corner of Munich, about 80 interesting exhibitions and events are held such as group and individual jewelry exhibitions, presentations, book signing, and performances to depict the history of modern jewelry.
