Presidential group from Higher School of Economics in Russia visited Kookmin University

On March 21, the presidential group from Russia’s National Research University Higher School of Economics visited our campus.
On the part of Russia, President Yaroslav Kuzminov, International Cooperation Director, Olga Moshkova and their representatives visited and from Kookmin University, President Yu Ji Soo, Vice President of International Affairs Tae Hee Lee, Dean of the College of Social Sciences Duck Joon Chang, and other representatives greeted the Russian delegation.
Both the Russian group and our university delegates discussed methods to widen understanding between the two universities and we presented various proposals such as an exchange student and professor program, and cooperative study to the Russian university.
Russia’s Higher School of Economics is located in Moscow and is the main institution in President Medvedev’s economic modernization program, becoming one of the leading universities in the Russian economic field.
There is also a Korean Studies program under the Oriental Studies Department at Higher School of Economics, which offers Korean language as well as Korean society, history, and economy, including research about various other fields.
After their visit, much more active progress between the two universities is expected, such as cooperation in the research and educational fields, and professor and student exchange programs.
