The 10th Kookmin University Algorithm Competition, jointly hosted and organized by the SW Center of Excellence Project Team and the College of Software Convergence at Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung Ryul), was successfully held on Saturday, August 16, at the Kookmin University Future Hall. Marking its 10th anniversary this year, the competition has established itself as a premier event for showcasing algorithmic skills and has evolved into a truly distinguished platform for discovering software talent.

The Kookmin University Algorithm Competition has contributed to expanding programming education for high school students and discovering outstanding talent over the past decade. Particularly in this era where the ability to verify, explain, and responsibly utilize code is becoming more important than simply writing code generated by artificial intelligence, this competition provided participants with practical learning outcomes and meaningful experiences. The Grand Prize honor went to student Kim Yu Dam (2nd year, Gyeonggi Science High School).

Hwang Sun Tae, Dean of the College of Software Convergence at Kookmin University, stated, “This competition went beyond a simple coding skills contest to become a platform for cultivating code verification skills and responsible utilization capabilities, both essential in the AI era.” He added, “Through plans such as continuously reflecting competition participation achievements in freshman admissions, Kookmin University will continue to lead the way in nurturing future software talent.”
