Kookmin University (President Jung Seung-ryul) announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Dong-A Trading (Chairman Lee Hyun-jae) on the 5th at Kookmin University's Industry-Academic Cooperation Center, Room 404, to promote mutual development through the research and development of semiconductor research equipment.

The MOU signing ceremony was attended by Dong-A Trading Co. Chairman Lee Hyun-jae, Director Kim Dae-hwan, Manager Hong Sun-pyo, Kookmin University Industry-Academic Cooperation Team Leader Lee In-hyeong, and Industry-Academic Cooperation Team Leader Seo Jun-kyung, who discussed step-by-step strategies and specific mutual cooperation plans for full-scale cooperation in the future.

With this agreement, the two organizations are expected to collaborate in various areas, including the exchange and cooperation of human and physical resources, the training and mutual exchange of professionals in the R&D field, joint participation and support of research and development in the field of semiconductor research equipment, on-site training for current students, and the provision of job opportunities, as well as cooperation in technology commercialization and business modeling (BM).

Dong-A Trading is a venture company that manufactures research equipment for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the fields of semiconductors, new materials, MEMS, nanotech, and biotech, including spin coaters, dip coaters, sputter coaters, and film coaters that it develops and manufactures directly. It exports its high-quality equipment to Korea and the rest of the world through technological innovation.

At the signing ceremony, Dong-A Trade's Chairman Lee Hyeon-jae said, “As a venture company that manufactures and develops research equipment related to semiconductors, new materials, MEMS, nanotech, and biotech, Dong-A Trade has donated more than 100 million won in experimental equipment to contribute to the future development of our alma mater, Kookmin University, and the research activities of our juniors. We hope that this MOU will help both organizations develop semiconductor research equipment and foster research talent based on close mutual trust, leading to continued development.”

In addition, Lee In-hyung, head of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation at Kookmin University, said, “This MOU will be an important turning point in advanced research and talent development to respond to the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” and “We will do our best to produce innovative research results and excellent talent through cooperation with Dong-A Trading.”
