Jinhyuk Rho, Maria Rho and Ju Hyeon Lee from the Department of Industrial Design became the winners of the 2011 "iF Concept Award". They designed a package with a spoon for mixing instant coffee. As Jinhyuk explained, it is unsanitary to drink coffee after mixing it with the ripped package end, and even using a normal spoon cannot be always hygienic. That is why their team offered the idea to make a disposal spoon that is placed inside of the instant coffee package.

As a new product, “Spoonin” still has many difficulties to overcome; it will take time for people to understand and get accustomed to this invention and to make it more productive in the field of sales. Besides, the "Spoonin" invention was displayed at the "Reddot Design Award Show" and now awaits its result.

“iF”, “Reddot” and “Idea” are considered as the 3 main awards in the field of design, and among them the "Concept Award" does not judge current products but new ideas and offerings. In other words, this is a competition in which originality and fantasy are important factors and play a great role in the contest.
