Kookmin University (President JEONG, SEUNG RYUL) announced that it held a successful 40th anniversary ceremony of the Graduate School of Public Administration on October 21, 2024, at the Academic Assembly Hall of Kookmin University Headquarters. Over the past 40 years, the Graduate School of Public Administration at Kookmin University has graduated more than 2,000 alumni through its master's program and maritime leadership program.

In order to use the 40th anniversary as an opportunity to take a leap forward, the Graduate School organized the 40th anniversary event under the slogan “40 Years of Together, Designing the Future with its Shining History” with various programs to recall the past 40 years, discuss the present, and design the future.

The 40th anniversary celebration consisted of various programs, including a fundraising event for the development fund held by the students and alumni of the Graduate School of Public Administration, the sealing of the time capsule, the delivery of the development fund, the selection of proud members of the Graduate School of Public Administration, and the awarding of merit awards. The event was further enriched by the participation of 300 alumni, including congratulatory remarks from Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and Seongbuk-gu Mayor Lee Seung-ro, and a four-part dinner where alumni and current students shared memories of their time at the School of Public Administration and plans for future development.

“The 40th anniversary event of the Graduate School of Public Administration is significant in that it was organized by alumni, current students, and the university together, further strengthening the bond and creating a foothold for future development,” said Hyunsang Ha, dean of the Graduate School of Public Administration, who was in charge of the event. President EONG, SEUNG RYUL said, “We will provide generous support for the Graduate School of Public Administration to become a representative graduate school of public administration in Korea that practices the national welfare contained in the school's name, and to become a graduate school that leads the country and fosters global talent that expands to the world.”

Kookmin University Graduate School of Public Administration is recruiting new students for the 2025 master's program from November 18, 2024 to December 4, 2024, and the selection process will be based on document review and interview. The Graduate School of Public Administration offers six majors: Public Administration, Policy Studies, Auditing, Community Affairs, Art and Museum Studies, and Social Work, and provides systematic and practical education by faculty members who combine theory and practice in various administrative fields.
