The dormitory extension was completed this February. The work began 14 months ago, in December, 2009, and will dramatically improve the residential environment of KMU students who live far from the school and need a place to stay on campus. A total of 179 rooms have been added to the building, which will now accommodate 684 additional students.

Work on extending building No. 7 has been underway since August 2010, in order to accommodate more KMU faculty. Construction is expected to be completed in July, 2011. There will be six new floors and one additional elevator for students’ convenience. Several other projects on campus will be finished this March: renovating the lobby in the Sungkok Library, more elevators in the Hyungsul Building, and a souvenir shop on the first floor of the Bugak Building.

All this is part of upgrading the campus infrastructure, which is one of the core goals of 'KMU 1010.' In the Bugak Building, the Student Center has been expanded to 646 pyeong/2554yd², the Conference Room remodeled and an elevator added. In the future, a new dormitory for foreign students will be built on about 278 pyeong/1099yd² of land purchased near the school, and an UP ramp to Kang-Nam is expected to be built in 2012. Plans for two additional buildings is also underway.
