Kookmin University's Community Mutual Growth Center announced on the 14th that it held the 'Jeongneung 3-dong Community Resource Survey and Village Time Bank Advancement Performance Sharing Meeting' with Jeongneung 3-dong Comunity Service Center and Jeongneung 3-dong Residents' Autonomous Assembly at the Kookmin University Global Center.

More than 50 students from Kookmin University, led by Professor Ha Hyun Sang of the Department of Public Administration and Professor Heo Dae Young of the Department of Software, and more than 30 residents of Jeongneung 3-dong and staff from the Jeongneung 3-dong Comunity Service Center participated in the event, which was held as a cooperation and harmony event between the local community and the university.

The event was organized by the Department of Public Administration and the Department of Software at Kookmin University, in collaboration with the Jeongneung 3-dong Comunity Service Center and the Jeongneung 3-dong Autonomous Assembly, to present and share the geoscience project that was conducted as a semester-long interdisciplinary course (Regional Development Theory and Interdisciplinary Capstone Design).

Over the past semester, the students have been working in teams with the Residents' Autonomous Assembly and the Comunity Service Center to systematically analyze the useful resources and needs of the community, and based on this, they have proposed meaningful policies by establishing basic information for the establishment of local development plans. They have also advanced the village time bank platform in Jeongneung 3-dong to demonstrate and utilize it to the residents.

At the performance sharing event, not only did they share their project achievements, but also awarded outstanding teams through fair judging. In the local resource survey category, the "Self-governance Team" (Kim Byung Min, Kim Bum Joon, Lee Soo Hyun, Cho Eun Na Ra, Choi Ji Won, and Shin Ji Soo) won the grand prize, and the "Time Bank Team" (Heo Ji Eun, Oh Sun Jung, Yoon Seo Young, and Song Su In) won the grand prize in the village time bank category.

"We will continue our efforts to revitalize the community, which is the foundation of residents' lives, by expanding and distributing the project nationwide," said Professor Heo Dae Young of the School of Software, who has been leading the students for a semester. "We will continue to promote various projects that can help local development by bringing together the university and the local community."

"The local resource survey and the development of the village time bank are good examples of how universities and local communities can collaborate to solve problems on the ground and contribute to improving the quality of life of residents," said Ha Hyun Sang, head of the Community Center of the LINC3.0 Project Group at Kookmin University (professor of public administration), who oversees the project.
