Kakao Mobility Finalizes MOU KMU’s Special Thursday Lectures with KMU to Vitalize Mobility Industry Cutting-Edge Technology

Kakao Mobility announced on Apr.5 that it has finalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kookmin University (KMU) to foster collaboration in advancing the cutting-edge of the mobility industry.
Under this agreement, the two organizations will establish a cooperative framework covering various areas, including joint research and project advancement for the development of billboard advertisement technology, industry-academic cooperation in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to future mobility industries, and training skilled personnel for the industry.
Executive Vice-President An Kyu-Jin of Kakao Mobility said “We are glad to start cooperative work with KMU, which has trained excellent person of talent in the field of mobility and advertisement.”
President Jeong Seung Ryul of KMU also said, “This cooperation will become a chance to display capacity and step up in the field of advertisement and mobility.” and responded that “The university will be highly supportive to accomplish cooperation between both organizations in various fields.”
The signing ceremony for this MOU was attended by Executive Vice-President An Kyu-Jin of Kakao Mobility, Director Gae Kyung-Hyun, General Manager Kim Chang-Sik, and Manager Moon Sung-Jin, along with President Jeong Seung Ryul of KMU, head of the Industry-University Collaboration Center Lee Yin-Hyung, Professor Lee Jong-Min of the Department of Media and Advertisement at KMU, Dean Ji Jun-Hyung of the Department of Media and Advertisement, President Shin Sung-Hwan of the College of Automotive Engineering, and President Kang Yun-Sik of the Postgraduate School of Automotive Mobility. Discussions centered on establishing a step-by step strategy for advancing cooperation and outlining specific methods for reciprocal collaboration.
Kakao Mobility is a company that provides database analysis services and online information management services on mobility and automotives.
Its core activities include database research, delivery services, and the development of convenience systems for automobiles. The company is currently exploring AI development across various domains, the first being the
generation of smart and autonomous mobility.
Many people are now using mobile applications to call taxis, and Kakao T Taxi, which is a mobile application of Kakao Mobility, is enhancing operational efficiency through data analysis models and predictive technologies.
It is also in the process of using AI in the development and observation of autonomous driving technology. Furthermore, another application offered by Kakao Mobility is a designated driver service known as Kakao T
Deputy, which uses a Fused Indoor Localization (FIN) feature for determining customer locations even in tunnels and indoor environments utilizing
advanced signal data.
These initiatives align closely with KMU’s Department of Media and Advertisement and the College of Automotive Engineering. Kakao Mobility’s involvement in outdoor billboard advertising intersects with the Department of
Media and Advertisement, and its effort in smart mobility development resonate with the College of Automotive Engineering.
