Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung Ryul) held the 24th National High School Student Sculpture Competition on May 18 (Sat) and 19 (Sun). Kookmin University, which is widely known for its design reputation, held entrance examination briefings for prospective students and parents interested in the College of Architecture, with more than 1,000 people attending three sessions. In addition, refreshments and drinks were provided to support and encourage the students and parents who participated in the practical competition. 

“Kookmin University's College of Architecture has been an important center for design education in Korea, with the educational philosophy of ‘design for humans, nature, and the future’ and the educational goal of ‘fostering designers with professionalism, interdisciplinary knowledge, and ethics,’” said Jang Jung Sik, dean of the College of Architecture. “In this history, we hope to create explorer-type design talents for the future who can pioneer and create new areas required by the times, from sculptural ‘problem solving’ and design to ‘value creation’ design for humans, nature, and the future.”

Kookmin University plans to provide the grand prize winner with full tuition for all four years of college and a 1 million won per semester exemption subsidy when entering Kookmin University's College of Architecture, while the gold prize winner will receive full tuition for one year of college, and the silver and bronze winners will receive 50% and 30% of the first semester tuition, respectively. In addition, the winners will be given the opportunity to apply to Kookmin University's art and sculpture specialty program.
