Choi Sang Mok, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, visited Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung Ryul)'s Future Automotive Division and the University Job Plus Center on Wednesday, April 24th. 

Kookmin University has been steadily investing in automotive as a specialized field since its inception. In 1992, the university established the first automotive engineering department in Korea to foster automotive talent, and in 2022, it established the Department of Future Mobility and is leading the way in developing various next-generation means of transportation beyond the automobile by conducting industry-academia cooperation projects with Volkswagen Group Korea. Vice Prime Minister Choi Sang Mok toured the future mobility sites of the Future Vehicle Business Center, including the vehicle ergonomics laboratory. 

Vice Prime Minister Choi then visited the Kookmin University Job Plus Center, where he held a meeting and listened to the students' vivid voices regarding job hunting.

The Kookmin University JobPlus Center has been consistently ranked as an excellent university example in the field of career and employment support, including receiving an 'Excellent' rating for three consecutive years in 2020 for good achievements such as establishing an integrated career, employment support, and on-the-job training system. 

An official from Kookmin University said, "We are planning a roadmap to actively support students to find their aptitudes beyond mere job preparation, starting with making it mandatory for students to complete career-related courses in their freshman year." "In addition to this, CoREP, an employment support program that helps students plan all processes from selecting a business topic to propose in a competition to analyzing the company and market environment, business planning, report writing, and presentation, is also a representative employment support content of Kookmin University."
