Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung ryul) and Gwangju Institute Of Design Promotion (Director Song Jin-hee) signed a business agreement on April 9 (Tuesday) at Kookmin University Headquarters to foster and develop design industry talent and successfully host the Gwangju Design Biennale. 

With this agreement, the two organizations will collaborate in various aspects, including mutual cooperation to foster talent in the design industry, various sharing and collaboration for the development and international exchange of the A-design industry, and mutual cooperation to successfully host the Gwangju Design Biennale.

Established to prepare for the internationalization of the design market and meet the design needs of local industries, the Gwangju Institute Of Design Promotion is working to strengthen the competitiveness of local industries and revitalize the local economy by linking local traditional and specialized industries with design. In particular, the agency is driving the development of the design industry by hosting the Gwangju Design Biennale, Asia's only international design event, every two years. 

Speaking at the event, Song Jin-hee, Director of Gwangju Design Promotion Agency, said, "We are pleased to begin collaborating with Kookmin University, which has produced outstanding masters in the field of design." "Through this collaboration, we will contribute to the development of the design industry as a whole and strive to enhance national competitiveness in the field of design," he added.

At the MOU signing ceremony, Gwangju Institute Of Design Promotion Director Song Jin-hee, Director Yoon Bo-yeon, Director Moon Ji-soo, President Jeong Seung ryul of Kookmin University, Director Lee In-hyung, Director of Industry-Academia Cooperation Center, Choi Kyung-ran, Director of Oriental Culture and Design Institute, and Jang Joong-sik, Dean of the College of Architecture, discussed step-by-step strategies and specific mutual cooperation plans to promote full-scale cooperation in the future.
