The GMP on-site practical training was held from January 29 to February 2 at the Kookmin Bio (CEO Sung Moon-hee) Practicalization Center located in Wanggung-myeon Food Park, Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do, and the participating students had the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge on the structure of GMP manufacturing workshops and how to manage the use of GMP production-related equipment, as well as various statistics, patents, and SOPs required by companies. The GMP field training was part of the curriculum of the bio-industrial production practice course in the bio-health industry convergence major, which was advanced during the vacation period to ensure continuous and sufficient practice time for participating students, and additional theoretical training is currently underway through the bio-industrial production practice course in the first semester of 2024.
According to the project team, the GMP field training in collaboration with Kookmin Bio has been established as an excellent educational program that elicits the highest satisfaction among the various educational programs offered by the Biohealth Industry Convergence Major, according to the students' satisfaction survey.
In addition to the GMP field training, the biohealth industry convergence major also promoted the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Bioinformatics field training in collaboration with Senigen, a bioinformatics-based food hygiene and safety innovation company, through the BioBig Data course in the second semester of the 2023 academic year.
