KU signs dual degree agreement with Kindai University, Japan On February 27, President Jeong Seung Ryul visited Kindai University (President Yoshihiko Hosoi) in Japan and attended the signing ceremony of the 2+2 dual degree agreement between the two universities. Kinki University is a private university located in Osaka, Japan, which was founded in 1925 as Osaka Vocational School and opened under its current name in 1949. 

Today, Kinki University has seven campuses in Japan and has a reputation as one of the best universities in Japan, with 34,000 students and 3,600 faculty and staff. Following the signing ceremony, Jeong Seung Ryul had a discussion with Hosoi Yoshihiko, president of the university, about key issues in international education cooperation.

The two universities have been engaged in steady exchanges since the first agreement was signed in 2015, and with this visit, they pledged to expand the scope of exchanges and cooperation in the future to continue their close and developmental relationship. Kinki University's President Yoshihiko Hosoi, Vice President Atsushi Iwamae, Dean of International Affairs Tatsuya Hata, Dean of International Studies Naoya Fujita, Vice President for International Affairs Yoshihiro Omura, Professor of International Studies Lee Yoon-ok, and Vice President for International Affairs Masahiro Uda attended the meeting, while KU's President Jeong Seung Ryul, Dean of International Education Lee Dong-eun, and one other person attended the meeting. 

This dual degree agreement is particularly significant as it is the first such agreement between two universities with universities in different countries. Through the 2+2 dual-degree agreement between the College of Global Humanities and Regional Studies and the Faculty of International Studies of the other school, excellent students from both schools will be able to study for two years at each other's universities and earn dual degrees, which will further enhance exchanges.
