A signing ceremony between Kookmin University President Sung Woo Lee and the Study Abroad Foundation President John Belcher was held on August 27 at Kookmin University. In effect, this agreement establishes an automatic relationship with approximately 60 SAF member universities and is expected to provide more opportunity for KMU students to study abroad.

KMU President Sung Woo Lee and Seung Ryul Jeong, Dean of International & Public Relations attended the signing ceremony. Attendees from SAF were SAF President John Belcher and Korean branch representative Henry Oh.

Through the global network of SAF, KMU students will have a chance to study abroad as of fall semester, 2010. As an American nonprofit educational organization, SAF provides Asian students with the opportunity to study abroad at many distinguished universities in English-speaking countries. SAF already has 25 Korean universities as members.

To take part in the SAF Program, students should meet the qualifications and apply to the Institute of International Education. Interested students are able to get more specific information about the SAF Program at a presentation on September 10th, at 2p.m. at Bugak Hall, room1010.

It is hoped that Kookmin University will contribute to the field of education and research through active cooperation with domestic as well as foreign universities.
