Kookmin University-Samsung Electronics Co., set up Samsung Network Power Center (SNPC)

A signing ceremony between Kookmin University (President Sung Woo Lee) and network division (Manager Woon Sub Kim) of Samsung Electronics Co. was held last 16th of June (Wed) at Kookmin University upon the agreement (MOU) of establishing and operating Samsung Network Power Center.
On the part of Kookmin University, president Sung Woo Lee, director Hong Jae Lim of Industry-Academic cooperation foundation, vice president Hyun Sik Ahn of Information & Communications and a faculty of Samsung Network Power Center-professor Sung Soo Hong, Byung Jun Jang, Chung Wook Roh and Sang Kyoo Han attended the signing ceremony. On the other part were the attendees from Samsung Electronics Co.-vice president In Kwon Choi and head researcher Yong Woo Kim.
Primary contents of the agreement are ▲ to be equipped with core capability of business through securing long-term technology-key technology based on ROAD MAP and manpower ▲ to take the preoccupancy of market through obtaining competitiveness in technique as well as product differentiation by discovering precedent technique ▲ to train professional technicians through promoting high quality human resources and through reeducating our manpower ▲ and to run education P/G that studies and educates amalgamated knowledge related to power circuit and renewable energy.
Taking this opportunity, both Kookmin University and Samsung Electronics Co., upon the mutual collaboration, expect to have some development in securing core manpower and competitiveness of production cost based on flawless product quality and in securing differentiation and standardization of technology through integrated research on the new concept of power module.
Meanwhile, Samsung Power Electronics Center (SPEC) was opened in September, 2005 upon the agreement with Samsung Electro-Mech. Co. and we are under negotiation to establish a center with Samsung SDI. Likewise, now that Kookmin University is leading the way in developing research on the fields of electron and electricity has become one of our prides.
