The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Selects the Center for Innovation of Engineering Education Kookmin University (CIEEK)as part of the support project for Innovation in Engineering Education

The Center for Innovation in Engineering Education Kookmin University (CIEEK) was selected as part of the support project for Innovation in Engineering Education by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy last April 21st. This is the program that intends to improve the global competitiveness of engineering education and to cultivate creative engineering talents for the demanding industries.
In recognition of its determination to participate in the project, as well as its establishment of system setup and operations related to engineering education, Kookmin University was highly evaluated and finally selected to become part of the project. Accordingly, Kookmin University will be financially supported with 1.4 billion Won of government contribution for a maximum of 7 years until February 2022 (200 million Won a year). Through this project, the creative talents specializing in engineering will be developed. This may be accomplished through execution of cycle-specialized program in connection with new technology, tech-biz reinforcement, specialized autonomous program, and education innovation program.
Professor Dae-jeong Kim, part of the School of Electrical Engineering and Director of Center for Innovation in Engineering Education project said, “With the selection of this project, it is expected to establish practical performance and joint design programs and to operate a stable certification program that specializes in engineering.”
