Kookmin University granted scholarship to 18,955 students (as of Dec. 24th) by inducing a total of 18.5 billion won of external scholarship from March 01, 2013 to December 24, 2013. According to the state of external scholarship donation in 2013, it is mainly classified into national and local government, corporation (corporation, foundation, private business, etc.), and other organizations (alumni association, individual, etc.) and as shown in the table below, five national and local governments including Korea Student Aid Foundation donated 17.5 billion won of scholarship and 58 corporations including Seonhyeon Foundation, Yangyeong Foundation, and Inchun Foundation donated scholarship worth about 730 million won. Also, 32 organizations and individual donors including employees of Kookmin University donated 340 million won.

President Yu expressed gratitude by saying, “I express my deepest respect to all organizations and individuals that donated, from a few thousand to several billion won worth of scholarships. I also appreciate your contributions for the settlement of the donation culture in the society. From now on as well, I expect your interest and affection to Kookmin University and support to the future asset. Kookmin University promises to exert its utmost efforts to educate the students as the excellent pillar of the local community and nation.”
