Kookmin University, concluded an industry-academic agreement with Microsoft Korea

The Industry-Academic Corporation Foundation (IACF) of Kookmin University (leader: Chae-seong Yi) concluded an agreement on industry-academic cooperation with Microsoft Korea (CEO: James Kim) for the cultivation of core talent on creative industry and creation & expansion of a leading model on industry-academic cooperation.
Through this agreement, IACF will actively participate in educational cooperation on Microsoft support programs in the Game Education Center of Zeroone Design Center in Kookmin University as well as the Imagine Cup (The software development competition) for start-up on students. In addition, it cooperates with the registration of excellent creative game contents developed by students to Microsoft Windows Store. Meanwhile, Microsoft supports the platform of Microsoft Store through Dream Spark, students’ participation to Imagine Cup, and latest technical education that is demanded for the field of game contents education. Both parties agreed to mutually cooperate for visit, training, internship, and employment of the students in the Game Education Center of Zeroone Design Center to Microsoft office.
In relation with this agreement, leader Chae-seong Yi of IACF of Kookmin University said, “We will be a leading model of industry-academic cooperation by cultivating global talents who will become the core of creative industry and forming contents-creating environment with Microsoft, the leading global IT business.”
CEO James Kim of Microsoft Korea said, “For the excellent human resource and highly creative contents possessed in the Game Education Center of Zeroone Design Center in Kookmin University, Microsoft will exert efforts to improve the students’ global competitiveness by supporting the latest technical education and platform of Microsoft.”
Meanwhile, the Game Education Center of Kookmin University is recruiting new students for 2014. High school graduates (or plans to graduate), college graduates, or college dropouts can apply for admission and transfer.
