Professor Jang Yeong Min of the School of Electrical Engineering at Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung Ryul) has been named to the “2025 World's Top 2% Scientists” list, jointly announced by Stanford University and Elsevier, for the third consecutive year. This globally authoritative list selects the top 2% of scientists in each field by comprehensively evaluating citation metrics and academic influence of researchers worldwide, based on Elsevier's Scopus database.

Professor Jang Yeong Min of Kookmin University is advancing AI+X convergence research across diverse fields including AI-based optical wireless communication, energy and battery management, sensor fusion, drone communication, quantum AI, 6G communication, and IoT networks. Particularly in optical wireless communication and energy management, he is actively conducting research aligned with international standardisation. By directly implementing core technologies such as LiDAR/RADAR/Camera sensor fusion, energy AI, and Device-Edge-Cloud AI platforms in the laboratory and expanding them into international standards, he has simultaneously achieved both the practicality and commercialisation of his research. These accomplishments are recognised as a key foundation for his selection as a ‘Top 2% Researcher’.

Furthermore, over the past five years, he has published 65 SCIE papers, registered 12 international patents, and filed 13 patent applications, demonstrating the originality and practicality of his research.

Professor Jang Yeong Min stated, “It is deeply meaningful that the AI+X convergence research achievements, realised together with our laboratory's graduate students and industry-academia-research partners, have gained international recognition.” He added, “We will implement the research results for solving industrial AI convergence problems, validate them through official certification, and then, as an ICT international standardisation master, develop them into international standard guidelines.”
