Korean students have been winning the title for 4 years…. The number of participants in the Asia-Pacific area has been steadily increasing.
Korean student becomes the winner in the ADAA, where computer designers competed from all over the world. Song Eun Lee (Lara) from Kookmin University became a winner in the animation part this year so that a Korean has had the winning title for 4 years.
Adobe Systems has held a global contest exhibit, which selects the best university student graphic designer, photographer, illustrator, animator, digital filmmaker, developer and computer artist.
About 400 students from 15,000 universities in 73 countries submitted their creative works using design tools from Adobe.
Adobe held the ADAA ceremony at the CPC Conference Center in Taipei, Taiwan on the 23rd of September and announced winners in 15 different areas, such as browsers, animation, games etc.
Song Eun Lee majoring in visual design at Kookmin University became the winner with her work entitled: “My Favorite Animal” in the animation part of the contest. She interviewed four children and had them describe their favorite animal, then created her work by drawing the animals.
The contest intends to make people think again toward concept, which is very friendly in trying to get artists out of reality and stereotypes.
Adobe Premier and Photoshop were utilized in the production of the work and student Song Eun Lee (Lara) is planning to introduce her work in the ADAA winner interview held at the trade center of Taiwan on the 24th.
Adobe’s Asia-Pacific area marketing director said the number of participants in Asia-Pacific has increased, with the 272 teams being 10 times more than last year.
According to Adobe, the number of participants has especially risen in the Asia-Pacific area so they are 20% of the 960 participants worldwide.
The number of participants from Korea rose to 40 more than last year, giving us 198 total participants and a second ranking following Taiwan.

A team called: “The Glass Williams” from Louisiana University was given an award for developing a way to evaluate the best way of teaching, including a new and interactive media innovation for education. For educational video and motion innovation, Lian Wodward from BYU was awarded.
